Hi, I'm Elliot (^_^)/ - a graduate student who enjoys writing about the stuff I read, watch, and listen to. This site is basically an autobiography told through the things I spend my time on and want to share.

I also really like Ted Chiang's stories because they use science fiction not to predict what technology can do for us, but to explore how we actually experience the world. For example, how the shift from spoken history to recorded memories completely rewires a culture's relationship to truth, or how the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis applied to alien linguistics alters how a mother experiences parenting and grief.
